A highly popular folk dance of the region, which displays the heroism of God Veerabahadhra. The dancers who are called Lingadevaru hold a unsheathed sword in the right hand and a plaque of Veerabhadra in the left hand to perform a martial dance to the beat of drums.

Lingadevarus costume consists of a head gear, dhoti, rudrakshamala, nagabharanas and a wooden plaque of Lord Veerabhadra that they wear on their chest and vibhooti on their forehead, ears and eye brows.

This dance is the highlight of the Dusshera festivities in Chikmagalur.
